Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • Manuscript has been prepared using ANSN's style. If no, please download the template for Microsoft Winword.
  • Assignment of copyright has been prepared. If no, please download the fillable PDF or  Word  copyright form to fill out and sign
  • Check-list for ANSN has been prepared. If no, please download the fillable checklist form for filling out

Author Guidelines

These guidelines should be read carefully before preparing a manuscript. For further details, please contact the Secretariat (journal@ans.vast.vn; ansn.sec@vast.vn) or visit the Advances in Natural Sciences website.

  1. Advances in Natural Sciences: Nanoscience and Nanotechnologyis published quarterly in English and is devoted to all aspects of nanoscience and nanotechnology. Articles will be published either as papers or reviews or comments.
  2. Articles submitted for publication must be written in English.
  3. Manuscripts must be submitted via the ANSN-ScholarOne Manuscripts Authors need to create an account using their official work email address, or simply log-in to begin the 7-step submission process, if you have already registered.
  4. Manuscripts must be formatted as follows: Title, Authors (see 5. below for how the author names should be ordered), Affiliations, Abstract, Text, References. The corresponding author should be indicated and his/her contact information including address, telephone and fax numbers as well as e mail address should be provided. The template for Microsoft Winword can be downloaded from here.
  5. The author names in the list of authors under the title must be ordered correctly in the following order: 'given' name first and then 'family', for example Van Hieu Nguyen, or V H Nguyen (similarly to A V Belushkin, for example).
  6. The abstract must give concise factual information about the objectives of the work, the methods used, the results obtained and include keywords and subject classification numbers according to the classification scheme of Advances in Natural Sciences: Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. The length should not exceed one third of a page.
  7. Keywords (less than three) and subject classification number(s) of the article according to the journal's scheme should be provided beneath the abstract.

References to published papers must include the authors (including the full names of all (co)authors), the year of publication, the journal name, volume, and the first page number or article number. References to books must include the authors, year of publication, the title, name of publisher and place of publication. References to proceedings of conferences, workshops etc must include the author(s), year of publication, the full name and location of the conference or workshop, the name and location of the Publisher (if applicable), and the first page number. (Please use the Vancouver (numbered list) style for all reference lists.)

           References in languages other than English must be referred to by an English translation.

  1. Mathematical symbols and formulae should be typed. All equation numbers must be numbered consecutively and appear on the right-hand side of the equations.
  2. Illustrations and tables should be numbered consecutively. They should be of good quality and their placement in the text should be clearly indicated.
  3. Figures must illustrate concisely the results of the work and be prepared in high resolution (WMF/EPS/TIFF/JPEG). In particularly, vector formats (WMF/EPS) are best for the plots.
  4. Papers submitted to the Advances in Natural Sciences: Nanoscience and Nanotechnologyshould be written in an elegant and clear style.
  5. Before submit the manuscript, the authors must prepare the Copyright Agreement (with your sign in PDF format) and the Checklist (in Winword format *.doc/x).
